Enjoy some cartoons that say better than I could what is not expected of students and parents, followed by Great Expectations of what is expected of students this year.
Great Expectations
Students are to be prompt, prepared, polite, and participatory, actively engaged in their own creativity, inquiry, and discovery.
Students are expected to complete class work and homework with integrity. Any work completed dishonestly will receive no credit.
Students are expected to use the restroom outside of class time, before school, during passing periods, at recess, lunch, and/or after school.
Students are expected to come to class with all supplies, completed schoolwork, and cooperative attitudes. Missing schoolwork or supplies or misbehavior will result in an email home.
Laptops are for academic use only. Any inappropriate use of technology will cause a student to lose use of device for class period in which it was not used as assigned by teacher.
HOMEWORK IS POSTED DAILY ON SCHOOLSPEAK. GRADES ARE POSTED REGULARLY TO MONITOR STUDENT PROGRESS.
Reading, rereading, annotating, reviewing, and studying for tests and quizzes, while not written, is work requiring time, thoughtful attention, and care.
Work is corrected and returned as soon as possible.
Students are expected to advocate for themselves and communicate with their teachers directly via email at [email protected] or in person at school.
Whenever a concern or question arises that requires parent-teacher communication, we should speak directly to each other rather than about each other to cooperatively support our common goal of furthering the education and bettering the lives of the children entrusted to our care.
